📺 Video Guide
🔧 Tools You'll Need
- New motor controller compatible with StormX
- Screwdriver set (Phillips and flathead)
- Zip ties
- Phone/camera to photograph wiring
Step 1: Power Off and Remove the Battery
- Turn off the power using the display or power button.
- Remove the battery and store it safely away.
Step 2: Locate the Motor Controller
On the StormX, the controller is inside the frame's downtube. Remove the screws holding the cover panel.
Step 3: Disconnect the Wires
Before disconnecting, photograph the wiring layout!
Label each wire, then unplug connectors carefully. Connectors are distinct to prevent incorrect connections.
Step 4: Remove the Old Controller
With all wires disconnected, remove the old controller from the frame.
Step 5: Install New Controller
Place the new controller in the frame and reconnect all wires per your photos.
⚠️ Critical: Push All Connectors Fully In
Every connector must be pushed all the way to the end until it seats firmly. A partially inserted connector can cause:
- Uncontrolled motor spinning — the motor may spin on its own
- Connector damage — loose connections burn out the connector
|
