Charger Indicator Lights
Your FavoriteBikes charger uses a simple two-color LED to communicate charging status:
| Indicator Light | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 🔴 Red (solid) | Charging in progress — your battery is actively receiving charge. |
| 🟢 Green (solid) | Charging complete — your battery is fully charged and you can safely unplug. |
Light Stays Red and Never Turns Green?
If the charger light stays red for more than 7–8 hours and never turns green, here are the most common causes and how to troubleshoot:
- Battery deeply discharged: If the battery was fully depleted, it may take longer to begin charging normally. Leave it connected for up to 12 hours.
- Poor connection: Unplug and firmly reconnect the charger to both the battery port and the wall outlet.
- Charging in extreme cold: Charging below 0°C (32°F) can prevent a full charge. Move to a warmer environment.
- Battery age or damage: If the battery is old or has been stored for a long time, it may no longer accept a full charge. Contact our support team for assistance.
How to Charge Your FavoriteBikes E-Bike
- Turn off your e-bike before connecting the charger.
- Connect the charger to the battery port on your bike (or remove the battery and connect directly).
- Plug the charger into a standard wall outlet (110V/120V). The indicator light will turn red, confirming charging has started.
- Wait for the green light. A full charge from 0% takes approximately 5–6 hours.
- Unplug the charger once the light turns green. There is no need to leave it connected overnight.
Charging Time
Expected charging time from 0% to 100%: approximately 5–6 hours.
Partial charges take proportionally less time. You do not need to wait for a full cycle — lithium batteries are not affected by partial charging.
Safety Guidelines
- ✅ Charge in temperatures above 0°C (32°F). Cold temperatures reduce charging efficiency and can damage the battery.
- ✅ Do not leave the bike charging unattended for extended periods, especially overnight.
- ✅ Only use the FavoriteBikes original charger that came with your bike. Third-party chargers may damage the battery or create a safety hazard.
- ✅ Avoid charging in hot environments (above 40°C / 104°F), direct sunlight, or enclosed spaces with poor ventilation.
- ✅ Store the battery at 50–80% charge if not using for extended periods.
