FavoriteBikes e-bikes feature a fully detachable battery, so you can remove it and charge indoors without moving the bike. Here's everything you need to know about removing, charging, and storing your battery safely.
How to Remove the Battery
- Power off your bike before removing the battery.
- Use the battery key (included with your bike) to unlock the battery. Insert the key into the lock and turn it to release.
- Slide or lift the battery out of its mounting bracket. Use both hands to support its weight.
- Carry the battery to your charging location.
Safety Tip: Never force the battery out. If it doesn't slide out easily, check that the key has fully released the lock.
Charging Your Battery
- Connect the charger to a standard wall outlet (110V).
- Plug the charger connector into the battery's charge port. You will hear a click when it's properly seated.
- Charging begins automatically — the indicator light will turn red.
- When fully charged, the indicator light turns green. Disconnect the charger and reinstall the battery on your bike.

Charging Tips & Precautions
- Use only the FavoriteBikes-supplied charger. Third-party chargers may damage the battery or void your warranty.
- Charge in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
- Do not leave the battery charging unattended for extended periods.
- A full charge typically takes 4–6 hours depending on remaining charge level.
- Avoid draining the battery to 0% regularly — topping it off at 20–30% extends battery lifespan.
Battery Storage Tips
- If storing for more than two weeks, keep the battery at 40–80% charge.
- Store in a cool, dry environment — avoid freezing temperatures or locations above 100°F (38°C).
- Recharge to 40–80% every 2–3 months during long-term storage to maintain cell health.
- Do not store a fully discharged battery — this can cause permanent capacity loss.
