Front Fender Bracket Adjustment for Fat Tire E-Bikes

Fat tire e-bikes come with different tire sizes and tread patterns depending on the model and batch. Because of these variations, the front fender mounting brackets may not always align perfectly with every tire. If your front fender feels loose, rubs against the tire, or sits at an awkward angle, don't worry — we will send you the correct L-shaped adjustment brackets free of charge to ensure a perfect fit.

What Are the Adjustment Brackets?

The adjustment brackets are L-shaped metal brackets (highlighted in blue in the image below) that connect the front fender to the fork. Different tire widths require different bracket sizes to maintain proper fender clearance and alignment.

How to Replace the Front Fender Brackets

Tools needed: Allen key set (sizes may vary by model)

Step 1: Remove the Front Fender

  • Locate the long mounting bar (the straight bracket that runs along the top of the fender and attaches to the fork crown).
  • Using an Allen key, loosen and remove the bolts securing the long mounting bar to the fork.
  • Carefully detach the fender from the bike. Set the fender and hardware aside.

Step 2: Remove the Old L-Shaped Brackets

  • The L-shaped brackets are attached to the lower fork legs, near the wheel axle area.
  • Using an Allen key, unscrew and remove the old L-shaped brackets from both sides of the fork.
  • Keep the bolts — you may reuse them with the new brackets.

Step 3: Install the New L-Shaped Brackets

  • Take the new L-shaped brackets we sent you and align them with the mounting holes on the fork legs.
  • Hand-tighten the bolts first to ensure proper alignment.
  • Once aligned, tighten the bolts securely with an Allen key.

Step 4: Reinstall the Front Fender

  • Reattach the fender to the new L-shaped brackets and the long mounting bar at the fork crown.
  • Align the fender so it is centered over the tire with even clearance on both sides.
  • Tighten all bolts securely.

Step 5: Check Clearance and Alignment

  • Spin the front wheel by hand and make sure the fender does not rub against the tire at any point.
  • Verify the fender is straight and centered.
  • If the fender still rubs or sits unevenly, slightly loosen the bolts, adjust the position, and retighten.
