Latest Firmware: Version 6.1
All FavoriteBikes models now use firmware version 6.1. The FavoriteBikes app will automatically identify your bike's controller and match the correct firmware — no need to manually select a version or region.
Keeping your bike's firmware up to date ensures optimal performance, improved stability, and access to the latest features.
⚠️ Do You Need to Update?
If your bike is riding well and you're not experiencing any issues, you do not need to update the firmware. The latest app version does not require a firmware update to function normally.
A firmware update is only recommended if:
- You've purchased a new component (such as a new controller or display) that requires updated firmware for compatibility.
- Our support team has specifically recommended an update to resolve a known issue.
Please note: If the update process is interrupted or performed incorrectly, it can cause the display to stop functioning — which requires additional troubleshooting to fix. Only proceed if you have a specific reason to update.
How to Update Your Display Firmware (OTA)
The FavoriteBikes app supports Over-the-Air (OTA) firmware updates on both iOS and Android. This is the easiest way to keep your display up to date.
Download the FavoriteBikes app:
Step 1: Open Software Update in the App
Go to Settings in the app and tap "Software Update." The app will redirect you to the firmware update page.
Step 2: Deep Restart the Display
Before the update can proceed, your display needs to perform a deep restart. The app will guide you through this process. You will see the display power off — this confirms the deep restart is complete.
If your display does not automatically power off, manually disconnect and reconnect the display's 8-pin cable to perform the deep restart.
Step 3: Activate OTA Update
After the deep restart, press and hold the +, −, and power buttons simultaneously to start the firmware update process.
Step 4: Confirm in the App
If the app shows a "Let's Begin" prompt after the deep restart, tap it to proceed.
Step 5: Download and Install
The app will automatically detect your bike's controller and select the correct firmware version. Tap "Download and Install" to begin the update.
Step 6: Wait for Completion
The update takes approximately 5 minutes. Do not power off your bike during the update. Wait until the process is fully complete.
