If your FavoriteBikes lock is not functioning correctly, use this comprehensive guide to diagnose and resolve common lock issues — whether the lock will not engage, will not open, or the intelligent sensor is malfunctioning.
Part 1: Lock Won't Engage (Does Not Lock Properly)
If your e-bike's smart lock isn't engaging after you manually lock it, follow this reset procedure.
Step 1: Perform a Lock Sensor Reset
- Press and hold the "M" and "+" buttons together on your display.
- The lock motor will run forward to perform a calibration.
- On the screen, you will see a countdown: 3…2…1.
- Once the countdown finishes, the calibration is complete.
-
Press and hold "M" and "+" again.
- You should see a green lock icon appear on the screen — this confirms the sensor has been successfully reset.
Step 2: Test the Lock
Try locking the bike again. If it works normally, the issue is resolved.
Step 3: If It's Still Not Locking…
If the lock still does not engage after the reset:
- Manually press and hold the lock in the locked position.
- While holding it, turn the bike on.
- Keep the lock held in place for a few seconds to allow the system to recognize the locked state.
Part 2: Lock Won't Open or Close
If your bike's lock is not opening or closing, follow these steps:
Step 1: Reset the Lock Sensor
First, try resetting the lock sensor using the steps in Part 1 above. If the lock still does not function correctly, proceed to Step 2.
Step 2: Remove and Replace the Lock (Model-Specific Instructions)
If resetting the sensor does not fix the issue, you may need to remove and replace the lock. The process varies by model:
For Hybrid CSC Model
Refer to the attached file for specific lock removal instructions.
For Hybrid and Hybrid Pro Models
Follow the step-by-step guide here for your bike model.
Part 3: Intelligent Lock Sensor Malfunction
The intelligent lock sensor may malfunction in two ways:
- False Lock Detection: The sensor thinks the bike is locked, even when the lock is open or not engaged. This causes the bike to shut down or not operate.
- False Unlock Detection: The sensor thinks the bike is unlocked, even though the lock is closed. This could allow the bike to be ridden while still locked, causing damage or safety issues.
Solution: Disable or Re-enable the Lock Sensor
- Turn on the Bike: If your bike is shut down, turn it on by entering your passcode or using your RFID key.
- Watch for the White Screen: After turning on, you'll see the FavoriteBikes welcome page on a white screen.
-
Disable the Lock Sensor:
-
Press and hold the
+andMbuttons at the same time when you see the white screen. - The screen will display a lock icon and a countdown from 3, 2, 1.
