If the FavoriteBikes app cannot find your bike, the bike does not appear in the Bluetooth list, or the app says it cannot connect, the most common cause is that Bluetooth permission is not enabled correctly for the app.

This guide walks you through how to turn on Bluetooth permissions for the FavoriteBikes app on both iPhone and Android.

Before You Start

  • Make sure your bike is powered on.
  • Keep your phone close to the bike.
  • Turn Bluetooth on from your phone’s system settings.
  • Make sure another phone is not already connected to the bike.
  • Use the FavoriteBikes app to connect. Do not try to pair the bike from the phone’s standard Bluetooth device list unless instructed by support.

iPhone: Enable Bluetooth Permission for the FavoriteBikes App

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Scroll down and tap FavoriteBikes.
  3. Turn Bluetooth ON.
  4. If available, turn Local Network ON as well.
  5. Make sure Cellular Data is ON, or connect your phone to Wi-Fi.

Also Check iPhone Bluetooth

  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Make sure Bluetooth is turned ON.
  3. Return to the FavoriteBikes app and try connecting again.

If You Do Not See Bluetooth Under FavoriteBikes Settings

If Bluetooth permission does not appear under the FavoriteBikes app settings, try this:

  1. Force close the FavoriteBikes app.
  2. Restart your iPhone.
  3. Open the FavoriteBikes app again.
  4. When the app asks for Bluetooth access, tap Allow.

Android: Enable Bluetooth Permission for the FavoriteBikes App

Android permission names can vary by phone brand and Android version. Depending on your phone, Bluetooth access may appear as Bluetooth, Nearby Devices, or Nearby devices permission.

  1. Open Settings on your Android phone.
  2. Go to Apps or App Management.
  3. Select FavoriteBikes.
  4. Tap Permissions.
  5. Allow the following permissions if available:
    • Nearby Devices or Bluetooth → Allow
    • Location → Allow while using the app

Why Android May Ask for Location

On many Android phones, Location permission is required for Bluetooth scanning. This does not mean the app needs your location to ride the bike; Android uses this permission to allow nearby Bluetooth devices to be detected.

Also Check Android Bluetooth and Location

  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth ON.
  2. Go to Settings > Location and turn Location ON.
  3. Return to the FavoriteBikes app and try connecting again.

If the Bike Still Does Not Show in the App

After enabling permissions, try the following steps:

  1. Turn Bluetooth OFF and ON again on your phone.
  2. Force close the FavoriteBikes app, then reopen it.
  3. Restart your phone.
  4. Wake the bike by pressing and holding the power button on the left handlebar to turn the bike off, then press and hold it again to turn the bike back on. If the bike has entered sleep mode, this power cycle can help the app find it again.
  5. Keep the phone close to the display or bike while searching.
  6. Make sure another phone is not already connected to the bike.
  7. If you previously paired the bike in your phone’s system Bluetooth list, forget/remove that Bluetooth device, then try connecting again from inside the FavoriteBikes app.
